| More supposition from Paul. As usual. There was never a problem before with getting things dealt with by council staff when Perceval House and the Town Hall were fulfilling the functions they were built for, ie serving the local population. One could go there to register for a parking permit, pay a bill or have a meeting about a particular council service such as school admissions. Of course the prevailing approach now is to keep the public at arms length and ignore most attempts at communication with council staff. The Town Hall has been gifted to a hotrr er l business, while Perceval House is having its ground floor turned into a community event space, a poor substitute for the Victoria Hall that served the people of Ealing well for over a century. For a council that is allegedly committed to doing things properly and being open and honest with residents they are going about that in a very strange way. |
