Peter, not everyone has the ability and/or means to invest in a home charging point. This is because they either own an upstairs flat, own a property where, without approval, installing a home charging point is not permitted (such as in a shared ownership house/flat), the person rents the property they live in, they do not have a driveway, or do not have the means to invest in a home charging kit at all. To roll out EV big time, you must have the infrastructure for the population to access. The target is to have 10 million EV vehicles on the roads by 2030. It is reasonable to say that the more roadside charging points there are the more likely this target will be reached. |
