| This no left/no right turn out of Longfield Road has nothing to do with Labour. Think of it as your penalty charge for not paying attention to the signage. If you had read the signs, which have been there for years, you would have skipped the hassle of a fine. The reason why the closure was put in, as I understand it, was that vehicles were making use of Gordon Road as a rat-run to bypass the Uxbridge Road. The Highways Dept correctly decided to make Gordon Road safer, after counting too many vehicles speeding along it going towards or coming form Ealing. The banning of the left turn/right turn to/from Ealing solved the problem. Had you used another route you would have found that journey time would have been similar. Finally, there are masses of people who work for the council who don't vote Labour! |
