| When my neighbour tried this as she has so little waste it remained uncollected. The caddy locks just as the food box does and of course needs less washing and takes up less space in the home. You learn to make less waste. You can question what you are throwing out. The other day I discovered someone who only uses the white bit of spring onions which really surprised me as I use all of them finding them a good and easier substitute for chives until I get more herbs growing. The stalks of broccoli once peeled are good too. They tend not to last long enough in the kitchen to go into the stir-fry. I don't waste bread any more. Sometimes I freeze part of a loaf so that it can be used straight from freezer to toaster. I'm better at switching to using it instead of pitta bread when it needs using up - a bit more management and a bit less indulgence! It is a satisfying achievement. |
