| Some MPs and many of the electorate would do well to remember that the leave/remain vote was a referundum.It was not a general or local election or any form of election. It was a vote to determine whether the UK should leave or remian in the EU. The fact that the results were given by parliamentary constituency or any other regional division was a grave error. Only the final totals should have been issued. The majority of votes were for leaving the EU. This, amazingly, has not been challenged by the remainers in parliament. The result is most unfortunate for those MPs against leaving as they are in the position, regardless of personal conviction or constituents, probably for the first in the history of our nation, of being told what to do by the nation. My personal opinion is that any MP who cannot accept this ha at least two problems: 1 Is of inferior intelligence and is unable to adapt. 2 Is unsure of his (to use the correct pronoun where the sex is either) ability to remain an MP in his constitueny at the next election. Any MP who is incapable of accepting the result should immediately resign or abstain. Any attempt to frustrate the process of triggering Article 50 and subsequent events should be prosecuted for what it is - treaon. |
