I agree with you on this. I just find it strange that they never quite seem to sort all the leaks out when they dig. The road was half-closed for weeks, and now the covers are up again on the "person" holes. Is there something that they are not telling us about? Two, three times a year holes are dug by the gas suppliers by the station. What is even odder is that some of the "person" hole covers (particularly just by the station) have been replaced with pieces of steel with holes in them to vent the escaping gas so that it does not build up in ducts, cellars, etc. etc. Why not sort the leaks out? Surely their insurance doesn't cover a "blow out" if they know that there is a gas leak there? And doesn't the council have some kind of "duty of care"? |
