The trouble sometimes is that when you report things to the Council you don't necessarily hear anything further about it.

The Council is perfectly capable of setting up CCTV.  In the past there have been pictures on the internet of people dumping rubbish where they shouldn't. 

There is another website where people can report  anonymously and that is www.fixmystreet.com   This puts the reporting in public view.  You can also then check when something was reported - and you will be asked for feedback.  Neighbours can also see that a report has been made.  I am not sure that there is a feedback system from the Council and the mapping system for plotting the exact position of the fly-tipping is easier to use than whatever I saw the Council last using.  In actual fact some Councils now use www.fixmystreet.com instead of creating their own system.

There are very hefty fines for fly-tipping - and the law has now changed to make it easier for Councils to fine people.
