'Charity may begin at home, Doris, but there's no reason for it to End there' It hasn't yet begun in the UK.......homelessness in London is a huge problem as others have pointed out Ealing has a huge problem. So why doesn't Citizens UK focus on this problem and find hosting families for these people? Syrians are being urged to return from whence they came..... both farmers and professional people are needed urgently out there. The cease fire is holding and negotiations are to begin to sort out the political situation. Many of us had parents who lived in London during the war....everyone helped each other. They did not run away. My grandmother, a victorian lady, who lost her husband in the first world war, took in those starving on the streets of Notting Hill Gate. The British have a tradition of helping others, but as I said before, lets sort out our own problems before inviting others here who should be sorting out their own problems at home first. |
