| And I suppose we all tackle we either think matter most, or where we have something to contribute and/or where we can make a difference. I hadn't realised until this morning that not only did my paternal grandparents take in a kindertransport child, but my maternal grandparents took in a couple from Vienna in 1938. They lived with them for a couple of years before the chap, who was a cafe violinist apparently, joined the British army. Then they naturalised and anglicised their names. |
