Once again this debate has reared it's ugly head. Maybe people should get things into perspective. Our natural wildlife is rapidly disappearing, how many sparrows do we see these days for instance. Perhaps those people who want to cull foxes would also like to shoot any bird or squirrel that "poops" on their car, or next door's cat who might use their garden as a toilet facility. Think for just a moment, when you are walking in the park or anywhere else for that matter - what would you rather see, a wild fox, who will scoot if you get too close, or be menaced by the numerous "staffies" paraded around as a status symbol by young men who think being accompanied by a menacing looking dog makes them look hard. These dogs have been trained to be vicious and if people are worrying about a young child being attacked by a fox, think again, it's more likely to be a dog. When did you last read in the paper about a child having it's faced ripped apart, or being savaged to death by a fox. If the worst that happens is a fox tears open a rubbish bag searching for food is that really a reason to suggest they are culled or worse be shot by a hired hitman. There would be far more rats and mice around if the foxes didn't get them. England is supposedly a nation of animal lovers - or is that only when it doesn't cause them a little bit of inconvenience.
