As a Blue Badge holder, I can apply for an exemption to the congestion fine, sorry, congestion charge. But such an exemption does not apply to the ULEZ. So disabled motorists, who due to their disability and the impact such a disability may have on their ability to find a job or a good paid job and who also have problems getting to such a job in the first place, tend to drive. But, just as is the case for many people in the BAME communities, they may not be high earners and therefore drive older cars. So they are likely to be hit by the ULEZ fines soryy charges. And why do I mention that? How many of you I wonder would be so nieve as to not believe that these new fines sorry charges would apply to holders of Blue Badges! As has been said by others, this is a money making racket! |
