I have heard exactly the same story from someone who had to arrange permanent connections over the entire London area as part of his job. My own ISP is Plusnet, but I may have to change soon. I am almost totally surrounded by new-build houses, flats, and huge skyscrapers, all with Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) which is not available through Plusnet. There is yet another new-build under construction at the far end of the cables from the cabinet that supplies my FTTC, and BT have been instructed by TFL to remove that cabinet, so BT may decide to supply FTTP to this row of houses sooner rather than later, with a gigabit data limit. |
