So true but we, sadly, live in an age where people will take offence at anything and the rise in social media gives them an outlet to 'air' their particular beef to a much wider audience than in the past.

It was and is very easy to view the tweet in question in two ways; both as a comment on a dysfunctional family (the original intent I understand) and as overtly racist.

Even if you thought for one moment that the latter was a possibility when, in all reason, would you even consider tweeting something that could be easily misinterpreted?

The mainstream media now pick up on the ripples on social media and, before long, the ripples turn into tidal waves.

As a very experienced broadcaster one would expect Danny Baker to know this and to be extra careful of anything that he posts in the public domain.

If it was a genuine mistake then it is unfortunate but the ramifications of this mistake are only as a result of some very poor judgement by Danny Baker in the first place.
