Changes in road signage can actually be a distraction from watching out for the dangers on the road - like the pedestrians - joggers, children - on scooters, skateboards, running or propelled out into the traffic by parents/carers talking on their mobile phones whilst pushing buggies, let alone texting and not looking where they are going whilst plugged into their music. Not to mention other motorists and cyclists, pizza delivery scooters, and motorbikers. I think Phil meant autopilot for the routemap not for the actual driving. Signposts aren't always placed sensibly. There are ones in our road which are sited just around a corner on/to the left and whilst driving towards them you are actually looking on the other side of the road - the right - because that is where the moving danger is -ie any oncoming road traffic! Once around the corner you are too close to see them as they are too high. I expect they are positioned absolutely correctly according to the rules and a certain number of metres from the junction. Pointless. |
