I have asked Labour's Cllr Bassam Mahfouz who is in charge of this how many tickets have been issued.  In the past the council had a two week running in period for this kind of change where it gave out dummy tickets to give people a fair chance to change their behaviour before the new measure bites.  I don't know if they did this in this case.  Maybe Cllr Mahfouz will tell us.  When I was in charge of parking and ever since I have thought that the council is not active enough at educating people about such changes such that they never produce a big spike in tickets.
