| Backstreets will become cart tracks, refuse will have to carried for half a mile, crime will be endemic, workers will trek out in the dark and return in the dark, Uxbridge road will be a wind tunnel, there will one petrol station and food queues around Lidl, and people will make their own winter clothes from fox furs. Emigration agencies will do a roaring trade. We shall then die a slow death from local nuclear plants or other pollution. We are here but for the duration of a blink of a eye.
