I believe there is a difference between the purpose of speed cameras and the ones on junctions. The former seem to be revenue earners and somewhat ineffective for those who know the road or have a detector on board. Only average speed ones are effective. But cameras on lights can be effective in policing and ensuring safety as light jumpers are a hazard to other people. BTW, I thought they were not supposed to put up camera signs where there are no cameras. Such is the case on the Brent Cross flyover contra flow. There are no cameras not can there be unless they put average speed ones. |
