Eric no vested interest and no connection with the school but I do believe that LEA control of schools tends to be a negative and that £225,000 is a small price to play for the results he has achieved. I'd repeat he has been cleared of fraud so the bulk of this money probably went for the benefit of the school children. Your role as a School Governor should have taught you to be more careful with the way you express yourself.
From what I know of the man, and this is mainly hearsay, he was very charismatic with very strong left wing views but a good educator. However, he made enemies and so when the evidence to bring him down presented itself there were enough people who wanted him gone. The consensus appears to be that the pupils are the big losers in all this. |
