Sadly the true meaning of Christmas seems lost in the rush to buy the latest gadget or to show off to ones friends just how much they spent on food and gifts. This year my husband and I just spent a quiet Christmas together happy in the knowledge that he was allowed home from hospital, although he still has many hurdles to cross. He made a card for me, it was really special because he was unable to get out to the shops. Little things mean a lot. Be thankful if you can spend Christmas with loved ones but spare a thought for those who may be alone, or for our soldiers far, far from home. |
