Hi Rosco I've broken down my answers to your reply to my reply to your post *The clear message I thought is obvious - that xx Million number of people completely disagree with what Comrade Starmer is doing and will probably not vote for him at the next election. **I don't think the clear message is obvious. Here's my original reply: Hi Rosco, what clear message does it send? Millions of people didn't vote for Labour in the election and now a small perecenage of them have created and signed a petition that you know (well I hope you know) is pointless. *The petition is not pointless for the reason/s I have already stated. **So this petition garnered 2.8m votes. The biggest pariamentary petition was in 2019 and that was to revoke article 50 and that garnered 6.1m votes. Article 50 was not revoked The second biggest petition was 4.2m people asking to hold another reforendum. A second reforendum was not called. The UK doesn't change governments by reforenda and the likelihood of the King dissolving parliament based on a minority petition is small to negligble. *I deliberately used "overwhelming number" because I have no idea at what numbers the King would seriously consider dismissing Parliament. ** see previous answer. Well, give us a guess. I will. Let's say there are around 46m register voters therefore a petition would need to get to at least 23m before the King would consider it don't you think? *I also used "mostly" to placate those who insist many of the votes are Russian bots, it is not for me to verify and ascertain the number of valid signatures. ** I agree neither of us can ascertain how many of the responses are bots. My question was 'what percentage of them being valid is 'mostly' i.e. what level of voter fraud are you prepared to accept?' *If you are happy with Comrade Starmer fine, if not, at least DO something like signing the petition. ** As above the country voted in a general election in July and the country voted for a labour government so that's what we have for the next 5 years and there is no point in signing any petition |
