While the original post was trite and unhelpful, there is no need for the name-calling. We have spent billions on public transport infrastructure running parallel to these roads yet, unlike what happens in every other country in the world, haven't put much new housing near these links. The current government has wanted to protect the Home Counties at all cost but even that looks unlikely to prevent a wipe out in these areas. Labour will want to build on Green Belt, which, whatever your view of this environmentally, will mean that boroughs like Ealing won't have to do all the heavy lifting on housing starts going forward. Perhaps that finally will end the tall tower mania. |
