New plans at 241706OUTR3 on the Councils web site have been expertly criticised on 'Ealing Today' by the Brent River & Canal Society (BR&CS). The issue of the underground car park is quite farcical. The Council admits that the 32+ acre development site's underground car park could flood (from the River Brent close by). A sudden flood would cause £100,000s of damage. Insurance cover for this might be problematic. However as I understand it, if a car park is built on then TfL deem the site to be car-free and no replacement car park - surface, on top of the towers or underground - would be acceptable. Comments on the planning application (241706OUTR3) can be submitted until 26 June 2024. Major issues are building on Metropolitan Open Land and in the River Brent flood plain. Also residential tower blocks are unacceptable in such a low rise residential area. |
