I've just spotted that a residents meeting is being held tonight to discuss the plan to hold an 'immersive cinema event' in Gunnersbury Park next year. The presumption would be this is another Secret Cinema event like the ones the park has held previously. They want to take over part of the park from 22 July 2020 – 16 August 2020. While it is annoying that so much of the park will be off limits during the best part of the year I appreciate that the trust needs to generate funds and the Secret Cinema events were less disruptive than Lovebox. Working on the principle that if a public meeting isn't well publicised then it is worth going to I would try and go along but it is at 6pm which isn't practical for me. If anyone is attending it would be really useful if they could report back anything interesting that arises. Would be particularly interested to hear about free or discounted tickets for residents that always seem to be promised for these events but I never actually hear of anybody getting any. You have to register for the meeting on the link below. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/gunnersbury-park-amp-museum-8182304989 |
