Sorry perhaps very off topic here but just curious...

When were things like car park contracts privatised and why?

Just visited Northwick park to visit a relative and was shocked by the hourly parking rates being charged.

I find it incredible that the NHS are not benefiting from this directly.

I was more astounded to hear that the Nurses / staff have to pay a monthly fee to park there themselves!
