Mark, Spot on. These closures are part of the "Shafting a Healthier Future" plan. This wasn't about medical, demographic or geographic information. It was merely an estate management plan. Some hospitals balanced their budgets and other had been recently rebuilt and carried PFI debt. They couldn't close the latter so they wished to sell off the former for housing. Fast forward and we find almost every hospital has a debt so let's close the lot eh? just to be consistent. Shouldn't have said that. The numpties in charge might just do it. |
