There is a very large body of people who oppose the skate park -- at this location.. So there may have been a majority supported by many young people but it certainly was not overwhelming. The main difference between the skaters at Festival hall and Elthorne, is that the festival skaters are under constant scrutiny from theFpublic. That would be impossible in Elthorne. In the park land generally there are undercurrents of problems -like rough sleepers who will do anything to raise money. We are too short staffed on PCSOs in a borough, where unlike in other parts of London crime is on the up, to really keep a proper eye on a skatebord park at this location, or in the surrounding open land areas. Far too little Tory thought has gone into proposing a skateboard in such a stupid unsafe and inconvenient location, when considering where the population of young people who live in the Borough. |
