Phil Praise where praise is due. What intrigued me was the restrained pace of Mr Dix's anger. You made no mention of the car. Here is an extract from the Cabinet minutes dated 15 Sept 2009 concerning a meeting at which you were present. 'The Council has for a number of years removed vehicles deemed to have been abandoned. Whilst this activity is undertaken in pursuance of statutory powers there is no policy detailing how these powers are to be used. Following a report by the Local Government Ombudsman in July 2009 the Council was criticised for not having a policy in place for dealing with abandoned vehicles although it was recognised that work was taking place to address this policy requirement.' If that is true, then which century are we living in? |
