I have to say I'm sad about the increased use of postal voting. Not so long ago you had to have a good reason that you couldn't make it in person before you were allowed a postal vote. Now they seem to be encouraging everyone to get one.
I always thought it was a great British tradition for everyone to go to their neighbourhood voting station on the appointed day, to go into the 'secret' booth and put a cross on a piece of paper with a blunt pencil tied down with a piece of string!  None of this suspect electronic nonsense!
The great British system of voting and counting must be one of the few that could carry on during a power cut!
It also affects the dynamics of political campaigning and getting your supporters out to vote if they increasingly tell you on the doorstep that they'd posted in their vote weeks before!
