The Sterling Road closure was clearly a cock up but it may be that the switch to incineration of waste reduced the pressure on councils to boost genuine recycling and prompted the attempt to sell the site.
With every respect to the people working at the Greenford tip, every workplace I have ever been in had most people complaining about the tools or other equipment being out of date. While under investment is a highly possible explanation for the compactor breaking down, it isn't sensible to conclude categorically that this is what is the cause. |
