Such a shame in some ways. AR achieved against all the odds and set out with the best of intentions and to fight for things that she believed in, which were very much principles of fairness that few could disagree with.

But it became more than apparent that she succumbed to the two stage hypocrisy that seems to engulf most in politics.

And whilst she may have fallen from the top of the tree there are plenty at local council level who are far worse, and more than a few in this very council who would be wise to either get out at the next election or take a long hard look at themselves.

And it applies to all parties.
