Perhaps Paul should attend the West Ealing Neighbours meetings which are informative, well-attended and at least try to get the council to address the very many issues that affect the area. At the last meeting several councillors made pretty poor attempts to say that West Ealing wasn't ignored, yet Cllr Shital Manro admitted that the council didn't even bother to scrutinise the John Lewis planning application because they knew that it would be allowed on appeal. Saving money, apparently, but it's the resident living in the shadow of monster towers who lose out. The list of problems relayed by residents indicate that there are serious issues in West Ealing that are simply being ignored or can't be dealt with. Open drug dealing, street crime, anti-social behaviour, poor housing, empty shops, half built blocks of flats that will have to be demolished. The consensus was that West Ealing really has become a s**thole. |
