| Anyone still under the illusion that Ealing Council is open, honest and transparent can disabuse themselves of that fantasy right now. As the article on the front page about Warren Farm explains the council say on an important environmental report for six years, simply because it undermined its plan to give away a vast swathe of the area to QPR. Julian Bell is the chief culprit but Peter Mason was in cabinet at the time and would have known about the report. Quite how this administration can claim green credentials when it’s hell bent on building on any green space it can get its hands on. A bit of cycling and taxing motorists doesn’t really compensate. Cllr Costigan says: ‘Although there have been previous SINC reports, these are now out of date and a full survey of all the boroughs SINCs is almost complete, ready for publication by the end of September. That SINC survey will be used as evidence to build on our emerging Local Plan.” Key word there is build. Have no doubt there will be excavators on Warren Farm before the end of this administration’s term. |
