| You're absolutely right Peter. The Sultan must have paid quite a sum to Google or whoever to have part of his estate blotted out. Of course he is only the most recent resident..probably going back to the early 70's...when I gather he was barred from landing helicopters in the field opposite. One building is I believe ..a badminton court. Just along the road..on the other side of the M4..is a lonesome path, leading up to a gate..which is the entrance to the British Airways' Clubs' Angling Club. Not many people know that. And the name of the fishing pond / lake is the Whitney Lake... (Whitney Straker was the previous owner of the Avery..and a boss of BEA and BOAC!) |
