| Most suppliers now require the customer to submit their own meter readings on a specific day, so smart meters do that automatically. If you have an original smart meter you aren’t locked you into staying with that supplier - it just means the meters go dumb and have to be read manually again. The internet is awash with scare stories and even how to get free energy (allegedly)! Not having to go outside in the rain to read the gas meter is definitely a plus point for me. |
