My stainless steel preserving pan was £40 and it is the best for jam and chutney making. Making jam is surprisingly quick when cooking, it is often the prep that takes an inordinate amount of time - de-stoning cherries, topping and tailing gooseberries etc and that is after you have actually picked them.

I can't believe we are discussing the merits or otherwise of making homemade jam and chutney using fruit local to Ealing. The alternative is  shop bought where you have no idea what is in it, or the amount of air miles it took to get on the shelves!

Our jam and chutney is made in small batches to very high standards and it is of excellent quality hence why our demand is always outstripped by supply.  We take nothing from the sale apart from our costs.  I personally don't think you can get better than that, but then I am biased....
