| I managed a pharmacy in The Avenue 69-70 and one in Mattock Lane, 93-98. Now in Finchley I have only met one actress and a former First Lady of Nigeria. Ealing sensibly has the policy of only using the names of deceased persons for roads etx. Not using the living spares us controversy. But even the dead can be very contentious. e.g. Blair Peach . Lillian Board Way is in Northolt though she lived in W13. unlike BP whose only connection with Southall was his death there. Lillian told me her Olympic silver was a bigger thrill than her Commonwealth and other golds. I wish I did own a pharmacy or even have shares in one but I am a mere legal drug dealing employee. |
