| My answerphone receives multiple junk phone calls each day, mostly advertising very dubious financial services. My occasional checks indicate that the majority are caller number withheld. The Telephone Preference Service could remove my details from legitimate advertisers based in the UK, but would probably have little or no effect on calls which are either made by advertisers operating outside the law or originate elsewhere and may be carried at very low cost over the internet. BT appear to be not interested. |
