| Interesting that Housing need in Ealing between February and March 2009 was reduced by over 50%. Ealing Council had 22,711 households on its Housing Register. After a review in just a few weeks the total was reduced to 10,670 on the Housing Register. Details in a fairly poorly written report on:- http://www.ealing.gov.uk/ealing3/export/sites/ealingweb/services/council/committees/agendas_minutes_reports/cabinet/20may2008-15may2009/_12_may_09/Item_11_-_Update_on_Revised_Housing_Allocations_Scheme.doc Gordon Brown was lamenting that he cannot get on with normal business e.g. dealing with housing waiting lists of well over 1 million people. Questionable is how many of the almost 10,000 people who failed to respond to the review were too vulnerable to do so. Also one wonders about statistics so favoured by some of our local politicians. |
