| One wonders whether the redacted amount is the balance outstanding in the £400m loan sanctioned by Julian Bell a few years back. Money supposedly funding Broadway Living, the council’s own development arm (which has run at a loss in over a decade of existence). Property speculation on this scale is what did for Croydon and given the current state of the construction industry there’s every chance Ealing will follow suit should creditors decide they want their money. |
