These Boroughs that have declared ( without any consultation or mandate ) a 'Borough of Sanctuary' have also created a burden for all tax paying residents. The astronomic cost of this is near to breaking some neighbouring Boroughs and damaging this one. Surely this entire Nation is A Nation of Sanctuary? It's been the policy National Governments for a very long time. So should it not be the State that picks up the costs and not the localised districts many of whom are areas that already have costly difficulties ? It seems perverse to place the burden onto some and not all, and reckless for some Councils to create additional problems on their boroughs just to suit virtue signalling and feel good. |
