We have a real issue with money laundering in Ealing with Vape shops, Barbers and fast food restaurants that are fronts for the laundering of money for drug gangs and for people trafficking. A quick walk along any shopping street in Ealing will show you many examples of shops and restaurants that are often refurbished regularly or continue to trade without customers. It's time for Ealing Council (Trading standards) and the police to investigate these shops and take action like other countries. This article from the BBC shows how different places in the UK deal with this issue. Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3677xzk56no Ealing streets must be safe. I feel that in many cases, a blind eye is turned to these shops and restaurants to try and show that our high street is vibrant rather than with closed shops. Which would residents prefer? |
