'Pikle' seems to have originated from the term 'pighte' which is an old English word for a small piece of land. Over time the word got corrupted to 'Pikle'.I guess it has no businesses or homes on it. Cars can't drive down it - sad though that the sign should disappear. Is our Council too poor to create and put up a new sign? Maybe it's land unadopted by the Council? |
