Private Eye published the fortunes of the Post Office and associated executives who oversaw all this. Most got rewarded with top positions within the establishment and major organisations and hold a raft of other paid positions. Some even got honours. It is disgusting, most of them should themselves be behind bars and at the very least be banned from any public purse positions. That was published some years ago and here we are in 2024 and the same thing is going on. Royal Mail and the Post Office very much reflect the cronyism and inept management that dogs Local Authorities and parts of the the NHS and other close to state organisations. I note the Mr Starmer has stated he wants an end to cronyism. If only. He has been very much a part of it. And Labour councils would be a good place to start as cronyism, 'Done deals' with developers, consultancies and advisors dog this and other London Boroughs, the GLA and TfL. Not that Tories are any better, but Labour are far more closed and two faced. So Mr Starmer, great initiative but start in your own household first and prove its a genuine commitment for change. |
