Let me guess - you will not be one of the poor unfortunates that will be subject to the lofty gaze into every aspect of your life (including into your bedroom!) as a result of one of these monstrosities being built near you - am I right? Yes, really, into your bedroom. We suffer from this as a result of several tower blocks being built immediately over the railway from us and I can tell you, it is NOT a pleasant experience. When we purchased our house there were no tower blocks and no planning notices for tower blocks. There was and is a railway and we are also routinely overflown by planes leaving Heathrow. Both of these were extant when we made the decision to buy where we did and we took them into account accordingly, accepting them uncomplainingly. It is the brutal reshaping of one's environment which most upsets. (Actually, the intermittent planes (depends on the weather typically) are far more intrusive than the trains which one quickly gets used to. Not so the tower blocks and their occupants gawping down on one's every move from their balconies; this you never get used to. it's like being in a petting zoo 24/7 and it is NOT pleasant. All privacy in our own garden and rear facing windows on the house has been lost. very VERY unpleasant indeed! :-( ) |
