Problem is UKIP have a reputation of being only representative of a segment of our society. This council is shafting a very wide gamut of society and relying on those it claims to be the 'friend' of. The have nots are are taken for granted and propped up by Ealing's legions of well heeled champagne socialists who believe they know best. But of course are insulated enough to not be affected by what much of the Council does. Mainstream politicians very fickle. Many now realise that, but do not see any sincerity of other parties and this will simply vote Labour by default albeit reluctantly. So how will UKIP address that? It is those people who need to be won over. Tories don't bother and Lib Dems fare no better. In my view it's Independent locals with no party allegiance that will break this cycle of morally corrupt ways. Notable is just how many independents stand and win in the City of London. So it can be done. |
