The local good causes scheme run by the Co-op Group sees 3 local groups at Pitshanger Lane receive their certificates by Deputy Mayor Simon Woodroofe at 10am. Each will receive £2.5k Pitshanger playgroup and 2 local schools. Other Co-op food(and funeral) stores will have 3 other local causes to their area eg South Ealing, Hanwell and Acton. The funds raised by Co-op shop members who receive when they shop 5% when they buy co-op products plus 1% goes to the local causes fund. Added to this is the plastic bag levy. Throughout the UK £9 million has been raised for local causes this way and now the payout. In my local South Ealing store £1.70k has been raise for each Meadow House Hospice, Northfields Log Cabin and Little Ealing PTA.
