Ealing Swimming Club in West London is one of the biggest swimming clubs in the UK. We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be positive, adaptable & committed to ensuring financial integrity, effective budgeting, and compliance in managing ESC accounts.
The club is a registered charity and we deliver a huge water sports program across the borough for ages 4 and above including competitive training, masters, disability swimming and water polo. We have swimmers who compete at the highest national and international levels.
Job Description Finance Manager
Salary Dependant on experience
Reporting Line Report to the Senior Management Team and Trustee Board.
Work Commitment Part Time – 10 hours per week
Scope Maintain integrity of the financial records for the charity and its members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of annual budget • Preparation of forecasts as required • Preparation of Quarterly Management Accounts & Year End Accounts including, pre-payments, accruals and journal entries • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on the management accounts • Run the activity report by department to sanity check the entries for each section. • Run the summary report by department to construct the P&L by section on the management accounts. • Enter prior year actuals from management accounts and budget for the quarter for comparison. • Run the trial balance and profit and loss account for the period. • Liaise with external auditors • Treasury - Management of surplus funds • Preparation & management of monthly payroll and pension payments • HMRC & Vat management • Annual review of ESC finance policies and procedures • Attend Trustee meetings when appropriate • Attend monthly Op’s Board Meetings • Direct Debit management • Sage Management • Gala’s/Events – reconcile money received to entries. • Annual returns to Charity Commission & Companies House • Ad hoc Projects as required • Volunteer at ESC events
Skills required
• 5 years experience of Management Accounts • ACA/ACCA equivalent preferable • Charities experience preferable • Knowledge of Sage, Word, Excel, Microsoft Office. • Numerate and accurate • Good communication skills • Discreet • Able to work without supervision • Flexible and Adaptable
