| Upon reading Helen Harris's reply to Victor Mishiku's excellent complaint letter and her formal decision notice not to refer it for investigation, it is clear that she twice assures Victor that his complaint has been passed on to the independent adjudicator, Mr. Oram, the person scrutinising Cllr. Dennehy's complaint about Cllr. Julian Bell and his involvement in Dr. Onkar Sahota's planning application. I would assume that Mrs. Harris's refusal to refer means to the Council Standards Committee, for reasons that can best be described as a crock (how the complaint was formatted) but that's another issue. It would seem she wants any investigation into the Council Leader's behaviour to be kept at arms length. Talk about involving the Ombudsman or any other legal/government authority may be somewhat unhelpful when the Borough Solicitor has, twice, stated she has passed the complaint on for external scrutiny. |
