| Perhaps I should clarify things, as Cllr. Dennehy has turned up a paper trail through FOI, not of what took place at the meeting itself, but how it was organised. Dr. Sahota contacted the Leader's office via his (Bell's) PA. The PA's name has been redacted on all the emails. This person offered to organise a meeting at the Town Hall or the application site. Sahota preferred the house and was given two days when Bell would be available, one was decided upon. It was discussed who else should be invited to this meeting, and Noel Rutherford and Aileen Jones, the Head of Planning, were mentioned. In fact both of these people were copied into all the emails. We know that Noel Rutherford did attend the meeting, but we do not know if Ms. Jones attended or not. It has been stated by Sahota that no planners were in attendance. There is a hiatus of a couple of months and then an email from Sahota to Bell just before Xmas last year telling him that he had now completed and registered his planning application with the planning department. Bell was then asked in one stark sentence, "Please do the needful." Dr. Sahota used both his GLA and NHS email addresses during this email dialogue. |
