| Dr Sahota's response is really quite incompetent. When I next want to make changes to my house I'll make sure I get The Leader of the Council and the Director of Built Environment to come round and give me free advice. It was the proposed changes to the house that were controversial not the fact that Dr Sahota is a local politician. When it comes to planning the law is that we are all equal. The 'early engagement' which Dr Sahota failed to do was with the people who live in the adjacent houses. Dr Sahota's allegations that the Ealing Council Planning Committee might have acted on political grounds is a serious one. Just how might he have formed that controversial view? I don't think Mr Denehy is making political capital out of reporting Dr Sahot's behaviour. No doubt he would do the same if a UKIP member attempted to subvert the planning system. |
